- To drift/flutter in the air, of light things. 飘扬 (piāoyáng) to wave/flutter (国旗迎风飘扬 the flag flutters in the wind), 飘浮 (piāofú) to float, 雪花飘 (xuěhuā piāo) snowflakes drift down.
- Don't confuse with 漂: 漂 (piāo) is to float on water / 漂 (piǎo) to bleach / 漂亮 (piàoliang) pretty. 飘 is airborne drifting.
