祭 jì worship

How it came to be

How it is used
- To offer sacrifice / hold a memorial rite - 祭祀 (jìsì) to offer sacrifices, 祭奠 (jìdiàn) to hold memorial rites for the dead, 祭祖 (jìzǔ) to honor ancestors.
- 公祭 (gōngjì) is a public memorial ceremony. Also, in fiction/gaming, 祭出 (jì chū) means to bring out (a weapon or tactic). Solemn register.
