  • Note: 烫 = hot to the touch (scalding); 热 = hot in general/warm. Coffee that's 烫 will burn you.
  • To iron or perm: 烫衣服 (tàng yīfu) to iron clothes, 烫头发 (tàng tóufa) to perm hair.
