How it is used
- To shun/taboo, and to be jealous: 忌讳 (jìhuì) a taboo/to avoid mentioning, 禁忌 (jìnjì) taboo, 顾忌 (gùjì) scruples, 妒忌 (dùjì) to envy.
- 切忌 (qièjì) = must avoid at all costs - 切忌熬夜 (qièjì áoyè) whatever you do, don't stay up late.
- 肆无忌惮 (sìwú-jìdàn) = utterly unrestrained, reckless.
