丘 qiū mound

How it came to be
Two rises with a dip between them, drawn along the skyline. It is smaller than the mountain block, which has three peaks with a taller middle one. The difference is on purpose.
How it is used
- A small hill or mound - 丘陵 (qiūlíng) rolling hills, 沙丘 (shāqiū) sand dune.
- Smaller than a mountain 山; used for gentle rises and, historically, grave mounds (坟丘).
- Also a surname (as in Confucius, 孔丘).
