- Come over, toward the speaker - 你过来一下 (nǐ guòlái yíxià) come over here for a moment.
- Opposite of 过去 (guòqù): 来 comes toward the speaker, 去 goes away from them - 你过来 (nǐ guòlái) come over here, 你过去 (nǐ guòqù) go over there.
- After a verb: toward the speaker, or back to normal - 走过来 (zǒu guòlái) walk over here, 醒过来 (xǐng guòlái) wake up again.
- With 不 in the middle: not able to manage it all - 忙不过来 (máng bú guòlái) too busy to keep up.
