用法
- Demand / require, or a requirement - 老师要求我们准时 (lǎoshī yāoqiú wǒmen zhǔnshí) the teacher requires us to be on time; 满足要求 (mǎnzú yāoqiú) meet the requirements.
- Both verb (insist on) and noun (a requirement/standard). Stronger than 请求 (qǐngqiú, request politely) - 要求 expects compliance.
- 要 reads yāo here (to demand), not the common yào (to want); mind the tone.
