- 'Interesting / fun / amusing' about things that entertain or intrigue - 一个有趣的故事 (yí ge yǒuqù de gùshi) an interesting story.
- Contrast 有意思 (yǒu yìsi), which is very close and more colloquial; 有趣 leans slightly more toward 'amusing/charming'.
- Not for 'I'm interested in X' - that's 对…感兴趣 (duì… gǎn xìngqù). 有趣 describes the thing, not your interest.
