Works as both verb and noun - 总结经验 (zǒngjié jīngyàn) sum up the lessons learned, or 写一个总结 (xiě yí ge zǒngjié) write a summary/report.
Common in school, work, and meeting contexts - 期末总结 end-of-term wrap-up, 工作总结 a work report.
Different from 概括 (gàikuò, to summarize content briefly) - 总结 leans toward drawing conclusions/lessons from experience, not just condensing a text.
