- To make do / settle for something not ideal - 没有更好的了，就将就一下吧 (méiyǒu gèng hǎo de le, jiù jiāngjiu yīxià ba) there's nothing better, just make do.
- Carries mild reluctance and lowered standards; contrast 讲究 (jiǎngjiu, same sound different tones), which means to be particular/fussy - near opposites, a classic trap.
