用法
- Main/principal, and adverbially 'chiefly' - 主要问题 (zhǔyào wèntí) the main problem, 主要是因为 (zhǔyào shì yīnwèi) mainly because.
- Attributive/adverbial word - it doesn't take 很 (don't say 很主要); for predicate use 重要 (zhòngyào, important).
- Contrast 次要 (cìyào) secondary: 分清主次 (fēnqīng zhǔ-cì) tell the primary from the secondary.
- 主要 = which one is the chief/leading; 重要 = how important something is.
