How it came to be
A gate with the each block, a foot arriving, under it. A building you are let into, not one you live in: a pavilion, then a council's room, then the council.
用法
- A pavilion or upper chamber: 阁楼 (gélóu) attic/loft, 亭台楼阁 (tíngtái-lóugé) the pavilions of classical gardens.
- Politically 内阁 (nèigé) the cabinet of government, 组阁 (zǔgé) to form a cabinet.
- Also the polite 阁下 (géxià) 'Your Excellency,' a formal address in diplomacy.
