- To state/narrate; bound. 描述 (miáoshù) to describe, 叙述 (xùshù) to narrate/recount events.
- Formal writing: 阐述 (chǎnshù) expound in depth, 论述 (lùnshù) to discuss/argue, 陈述 (chénshù) to state (facts, a case).
- 上述 (shàngshù) = 'the above-mentioned', a fixed document phrase: 上述问题 (shàngshù wèntí) the aforementioned issues.
