- 'To order, book, draw up (an agreement)'. 预订 (yùdìng) reserve, 订票 (dìng piào) book tickets, 订购 (dìnggòu) place an order.
- 订 vs 定: 订 stresses making a reservation/agreement (可改动), 定 stresses fixing/settling - but 预订/预定 both appear for 'book in advance'.
- 订婚 (dìnghūn) = to get engaged; 签订 (qiāndìng) = to sign (a contract); 修订 (xiūdìng) = to revise.
