- A draft/manuscript - 草稿 (cǎogǎo) a rough draft, 稿子 (gǎozi) a manuscript/script, 手稿 a handwritten manuscript.
- 稿件 (gǎojiàn) = a submitted piece for publication; 投稿 (tóugǎo) = to submit an article.
- 讲稿 (jiǎnggǎo) = the text of a speech; 定稿 = to finalize a draft.
- 稿费 (gǎofèi) = payment for a written contribution.
