- To straighten/correct - 矫正 (jiǎozhèng) to correct (posture, teeth, eyesight), 矫形 (jiǎoxíng) orthopedic.
- 矫枉过正 (jiǎowǎng-guòzhèng) means to overcorrect. Also 矫揉造作 (jiǎoróu-zàozuò) means affected/pretentious. A second reading jiáo appears in 矫情 (jiáoqing) meaning fussy/melodramatic.
