- Blind, and by extension aimlessly/recklessly/for nothing - 瞎子 (xiāzi) a blind person (blunt), 眼瞎 (yǎnxiā) blind.
- As an adverb it's very common: 瞎说 (xiāshuō) to talk nonsense, 瞎猜 (xiācāi) to guess wildly, 瞎忙 (xiāmáng) to bustle about pointlessly, 瞎折腾 (xiā zhēteng) to mess around aimlessly.
