源How it came to be

A hand at the bottom pulling down, and above it the hide coming away from the body in one piece. The character is the stripping; the skin is what is left in the hand.

用用法

• Skin/hide/surface layer - 皮肤 (pífū) skin, 皮鞋 (píxié) leather shoes, 香蕉皮 (xiāngjiāo pí) banana peel.
• 调皮 (tiáopí) / 顽皮 (wánpí) = naughty/mischievous (of kids): 这孩子真调皮 (zhè háizi zhēn tiáopí) this kid is such a rascal.
• 橡皮 (xiàngpí) = an eraser ("rubber").
