How it came to be
A blazing headdress over the king block, an axe blade. The crown is the light and the axe is the power, and the oldest forms draw the crown much larger than the axe.
用法
- Imperial/royal - 皇帝 (huángdì) emperor, 皇后 (huánghòu) empress, 皇宫 (huánggōng) imperial palace.
- 皇上 (huángshang) = 'Your/His Majesty,' how one addresses the emperor.
- 皇室 (huángshì) = the royal family; 皇族 imperial clan.
- Distinguish 皇帝 (emperor, supreme) from 国王 (wáng, king, a lesser rank).
