How it came to be
A twist of cord, the deep block, over a field. Animals tied up on grazing land: the rope makes them livestock, not wild game, and it is the older half of the drawing.
用法
- Domestic animal/livestock - 牲畜 (shēngchù) livestock, 家畜 (jiāchù) domestic animals, 畜生 (chùsheng) a beast (also a curse: 'you animal').
- Read xù it's the verb 'to raise animals': 畜牧 (xùmù) animal husbandry, 畜养 (xùyǎng) to rear.
