How it came to be
The sun over a mouth with a stroke in it for speech. Words spoken in broad daylight, said openly and by everybody, which is what a thing does when it is thriving.
用法
- Prosperous, thriving - 昌盛 (chāngshèng) prosperous, 繁荣昌盛 (fánróng-chāngshèng) flourishing and prosperous, a stock phrase for a nation.
- Also a common element in names and place names (南昌 Nánchāng). Not used as a standalone modern word.
