斥 chì to scold

How it came to be
An axe with a mark struck off the side of it: a chip driven away by the blade. The character is about the driving off, and telling somebody off is doing it with words.
用法
- Bound morpheme for scolding or rejecting - 训斥 (xùnchì) to reprimand, 斥责 (chìzé) to denounce.
- In 排斥 (páichì) to repel/exclude and 充斥 (chōngchì) to be flooded/rife with, it carries a negative flavor - 市场上充斥着假货 (shìchǎng shàng chōngchìzhe jiǎhuò) the market is flooded with fakes.
