- Literary 'to hold up / lift high': 擎起火炬 (qíngqǐ huǒjù) to hold aloft a torch, 众擎易举 (zhòngqíng-yìjǔ) many hands lift a load easily.
- Most common in 引擎 (yǐnqíng) - an engine (a sound-and-sense loan).
