源How it came to be

A roof with twenty under it and a hand at the bottom: measuring by hand-spans against a wall. The number the hand counts to is the degree.

用用法

• A degree/measure/extent - 温度 (wēndù) temperature, 速度 (sùdù) speed, 程度 (chéngdù) degree/extent.
• 态度 (tàidu) = attitude/manner: 态度很好 (tàidu hěn hǎo) has a good attitude.
• As a verb, 度假 (dùjià) = to vacation: 去海边度假 (qù hǎibiān dùjià) go to the coast for a holiday.
