- To hinder/obstruct - 妨碍 (fáng'ài) impede: 别妨碍别人 (bié fáng'ài biérén) don't get in others' way; 妨害 (fánghài) harm/jeopardize.
- 不妨 (bùfáng) = there's no harm in / might as well: 你不妨试试 (nǐ bùfáng shìshi) you may as well give it a try. 何妨 (héfáng) = why not.
