- Two readings. dì = "ground/place" - 地方 (dìfang) place, 地图 (dìtú) map, 地铁 (dìtiě) subway.
- de = the adverbial particle after a manner word, turning it into how an action is done - 慢慢地走 (mànmàn de zǒu) walk slowly. Don't confuse with 的 (de, noun modifier) or 得 (de, after verbs before result).
