仓 cāng granary
granary; barn
How it came to be
A store building from the side, with the roof, a door in the wall, and the base. The door makes it a granary, not a house: grain goes in and out at one place.
用法
- Means granary/warehouse - 仓库 (cāngkù) warehouse/storehouse; 粮仓 (liángcāng) grain store.
- Also lends its sound to 仓促 (cāngcù) hurried/hasty - 走得很仓促 (zǒu de hěn cāngcù) left in a rush. In loanwords, 仓 renders 'cabin'.
